When we talk about the most mysterious parts of the body, gender, one topic gets the most airtime: shaving pubic hair .

There is a lot of talk about pubic hair, especially for women. Should they shave it all off? Are they going for a wax treatment? Or do they go retro to show off a full bush?

These options lead to other thoughts, such as: can someone be a feminist and still get a wax regularly? (Yes, duhh!). And fortunately, there is much more possible when it comes to hair around the gender. For women... and men!

Because shaving pubic hair is no longer taboo for men - and is even completely okay!

Why men can shave or maintain their pubic hair!

A news article published in The Journal of Sexual Medicine attempts to answer the age-old question: what is the perfect penis for women?

The Swiss researchers behind the study were looking to investigate “ how relevant women find individual aspects of penis appearance ”, and to see whether women in three age groups would consider surgically repaired penises to be “normal-looking”.

The 105 women surveyed were asked to rank eight different unique penis characteristics on a scale of 1 to 5 - with 1 being very unimportant and 5 being very important. Those traits include things like height, girth, general cosmetic appearance and, last but not least, pubic hair.

The outcome: Women don't like pubic hair!

The results of the study revealed some things we already knew. Women don't care much about the length of the penis. This property finished sixth out of eight - we really don't care!!! We understand it! It's more about the perimeter anyway and the study supports that. Girth tied for third place with penile skin quality.

First and foremost, the most important physical property of the penis was 'general cosmetic appearance'. So what comes second - between cosmetic appearance and girth?

Correct: The state of the pubic hair!

That's right, the women surveyed care more about the condition of male pubic hair than girth and skin quality, and WAY more than height. This has to be good news - while not much can be done about girth or length (aside from penis enlargement injections - OUCH!!!), you have complete control over the condition of the hair growing down under.

The study did not go so far as to also ask women which type of pubic hair they found most attractive. Men can take advice from female pubic hair gurus and figure out what style works best for them, or is most comfortable, and work from there.

The study also did not ask about the reasoning behind these rankings. Could it possibly be misplaced anger? After decades of being told what to do with their own pubic hair, it's possible that women are starting to shift their frustrations to the unruly male pubic hair.

There's certainly something to be said for a well-dressed, well-coiffed man. Tall, dark, handsome and a beautiful manscape. It shows that you're working on it when you occasionally look down and think: hey, maybe it's time for a haircut!

You can also consider it for your partner, who knows, it might make her happy. Whatever you can do to make each other happy, do it, even if it means cutting down on an area that has never seen the glistening blades of a razor before.

Let this be the beginning of a new era in sexual equality: Size is out and grooming is HOT .

The condition of male pubic hair matters to women - we have the proof!
