What is " Ball Hygiene "?
For most gentlemen, personal care mainly consists of a neat haircut, clean teeth and a pair of fresh armpits. But below the belt there is also an important place that usually gets too little attention and love: Your balls!
Most men wash it with water and occasionally soap and give it ashave every now and then... but that's not enough! Time to upgrade your ball hygiene so that you no longer suffer from smelly balls.
Why is ball hygiene so important?
Many men consider the pubic area to be one of the most important places on their body; after all, it is the place where the magical instrument is located; an instrument that is used every day. Shaving pubic hair is a weekly chore for many guys.
This part of the body is very sensitive; for irritations, itching and unpleasant odors caused by poor care. For such an important part of the body, it is essential to take good care of it so that those balls don't stink!
So, how come balls stink?
Let's be honest about it; Every man's balls sometimes don't smell so fresh: It is a natural phenomenon that is usually caused by bacteria that live in the sweat glands.
Apocrine glands
The apocrine glands are mainly located in active, dark and moist areas such as the groin and pubic area. The part between the balls and the anus is also a place where many bacteria live.
The glands secrete a fairly concentrated and greasy sweat - especially when your body temperature is higher than average (for example during warm weather or exercise), or the concentration of stress hormones is higher.
What you smell comes from the bacteria that live here and that absorb this sweat and break it down into a substance that has a strong, not very pleasant odor. And it mixes very well with other bacteria that live in the nether regions of your body... not a very nice mix.
Now that you know the cause of those smelly balls (or penis - let's just call it by its name), it's time for the solution. Preventing or eliminating smelly balls is not that difficult.
1. Use only quality products
The skin around the penis and scrotum is very thin, which is very useful for temperature regulation of this area, but at the same time also makes it very sensitive to irritation.
So make sure you only use products on this sacred and sensitive area that are of high quality - preferably without chemicals or harsh ingredients. Your body, and especially your scrotum, does not like this!
And don't forget: Use a device that is specially designed for your pubic area. And keep it at that; it can prevent a very nasty infection .
2. Give your nuts the love they deserve
Your balls deserve your attention - they do important work in the 'circle of life' - give them the time they deserve. So you should definitely not forget this part of your body while showering - see point 1 for the correct washing instructions.
After washing, the second step is to dry those balls. Do this well, because semi-dry balls are like a ball pit for Lange Frans - the place where you will find vermin - and where (bad) bacteria will reproduce en masse. Resulting in smelly balls and even infections and other troubles.
3. Sweat less (if possible)
Sweat is the main source of smelly, itchy and irritated balls. a smart boy would think to spray half a can of deodorant. Yet that is not wise! Fortunately, there are other ways to get or keep 'down below' fresh again.
- Powders: Powders can help reduce moisture, but often contain talc, aluminum and other 'junk'. It often causes a lot of mess and sometimes even stains your clothes.
- The right underwear : The temperature around your crown jewels plays a major role in the development of sweat (and stench). Provide good breathable underwear; preferably made of cotton. Even better: Use specially developed BALZY Boxers !
4. Keep it dry... but not like the Sierra Nevada. Hydrating is the magic word.
Earlier we indicated that it is especially important to stay dry around your crown jewels. Take that advice to heart, but don't overdo it. Too dry is absolutely not good and causes dehydration of the skin and a lot of itching, which is ultimately a source of bacteria (which in turn causes bad smells).
